Do You Journal?
I’ve been journaling for 5 minutes a day (or one page), most days, since early summer. I’m enjoying it (again, most days 😉) Often the entries are mundane, but every once in awhile I go deep and learn more about myself.
I’ve started & stopped journaling many times. I’d journal for months and then stop suddenly, for years. Each time I stopped, it felt like I failed or that journaling must not be for me. But then I’d eventually feel the pull to come back, that I had something to say, if only to myself.
“The Book of Alchemy” by Suleika Jaouad helped me get started with journaling again. If you’re interested in starting journaling or looking for a fresh take on your current journal process, I highly recommend the book. It is full of many wonderful stories and unique journal prompts.
Currently, I mostly free form write or use a recent reading as a prompt.
If you’re looking for a welcoming space to journal, Jennifer Zarin, LCAT facilitates live virtual community journaling sessions and posts journaling prompts a couple times a month. She also hosts journaling workshops.
Do you journal❓✍️ 💭 If so, do you prefer a certain process? Free-form, one-sentence, using prompts, gratitude list, something else?
